In 1973, the University of British Columbia hockey team traveled to China to play some good old fashioned Canadian hockey. It was a part of a tour done to showcase the sport to the Chinese. At the time, it was broadcast all over Chinese television and locals filled the stadiums.
The National Film Board of Canada produced this film. It shows us what 1970s China was like, and how the Chinese played the sport.
